New year and new plans

I know it’s been a while since I’ve posted, but everything went on the backburner last year.

My back relapse not only affected my ability to ride and train, it knocked my confidence too. It seemed unlikely that I could be on the road for two weeks on the LeJOG, cycling 80 miles per day and camping at night carrying that kind of injury.

The best part of a year later, and things are much improved… and I hope to be touring in May this year but crossing the country east to west, from Berwick to Whitehaven and then home to Manchester. This is not so ambitious but the route following Hadrian’s Wall is still a challenge.

Training is going well. I am now riding with panniers and crossing Pennine passes with relative ease.

The bike is looking a little different too, but much more on that later.
